Support Us

The Mowlem is rightly described as an asset to the town.  Whilst venues are closing up and down the land, Swanage is privileged to retain a fully operational 384 seat theatre and a community space, with unrivalled views across the Bay, which are both heavily subsidised from income derived from managing the rented portions of the building.

So what can you do to support it?
Well, you can join the Friends of the Mowlem, a group who have tirelessly supported us over many years with fundraising activities and providing a friendly face to supporters and critics alike.

You can talk to us; find out where your support is most needed.

You can use the Community Room for your functions, meetings or just about anything (legal) you like, with rates from just £15 per session, you can enjoy those stunning views and space that can accommodate up to 100 people for less than the price of a two course meal!

But most especially, you can spread the word.  We now produce professionally printed What’s On brochures which are distributed around key outlets throughout the Purbeck area.  If you are a company or society, why not advertise in our brochure?  Your advert could help us pay for larger print runs and wider distribution of our brochures, more media advertising and better front of house displays.

Watch out here for some exciting news about more ways you can support your local venue and help bring more quality live theatre to the area.
